Introduction |
|
| The goal of the department of applied physics is to cultivate the major areas of fundamental science of physics. We emphasize on the research of both advanced science of applied materials and engineering applications. We strengthen on the integration of research and teaching in the southern region by cooperation of all the related faculties and facilities. By doing so we hope that the promotion of research level is accomplished with least time expected.
The department is strongly committed to research in applied physics and to the development of frontier technologies. Thus, the multidisciplinary undergraduate program is aimed to provide the undergraduate students with both fundamental knowledge and solid experimental experience of physics as the firm foundation of advanced research for applications. Currently, we have one professor, two associate professors and five assistant professors. Our faculties actively engage researches in the field of magnetic semiconductors, opto-electronic semiconductors, nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Research |
|
|
Our faculties actively engage researches in the field of magnetic semiconductors, opto-electronics, nanoscience and nanotechnology.
For magnetic semiconductors, we focus on the fabrication and analysis of new diluted magnetic semiconductor(III-V, II-VI) doping with Mn, Co, Fe. The materials are important for the development applications of advanced spintronic devices such as quantum computer.
For opto-electronic, we focus on the research of inter-transformation of light energy and electric energy (solar cell), organic light emitting diode (OLED) and optical data storage and laser applications.
For nanoscience and nanotechnology, we focus on application of nanomaterials on bio-electronics. |
