The College of Law was established in 2002 due to the demand for social development and the advancement of legal education in Southern Taiwan . Its main objectives are to promote research and coordination among departments in the College and the greater university arena and to improve the quality of legal education through the following steps:
The integration of law with other academic fields The cultivation of legal practitioner expertise and knowledge of academic theories; and The promotion of international academic exchange and cooperation
All of the 30 full-time faculty members hold doctoral degrees in specialized fields and 1,080 students are currently enrolled in their classes ( 96 Master program students and 984 undergraduates). Legal discourse, instruction and practice take place within the three departments (Department of Law; Department of Government and Law; and Department of Financial and Economic Law), five Research Centers (Center for Human Rights Studies; Center for Mainland Chinese Legal Affairs ; Center for Public Law ; Center for International Relations ; Center for Economic and Financial Law), and Legal Aid Services that constitute the organizational structure of the College. |
